Yuvraj Singh had won it all – the 50-over World Cup, the World T20, the Champions Trophy. The elegant left-hander, after announcing his arrival at the international stage after with the U-19 World Cup triumph in 2000, went on to become one India’s most celebrated match-winner. However, the Indian Premier League trophy kept eluding him for eight seasons. But on Sunday, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Yuvraj’s long wait came to an end as his new team Sunrisers Hyderabad thumped Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore to clinch IPL glory at long last. Yuvraj, who was out of action during the initial stages of the season, came to the fore in the final smashing a 23-ball 38 which included quite a few of his vintage drives.
