first_img1 Steve Sidwell Stoke City are preparing themselves for offers for out-of-favour midfielder Steve Sidwell next month.The Englishman has been a victim of Mark Hughes’ successful rebuilding of the squad and has fallen down the pecking order at the Britannia.The former Chelsea man has played just 12 minutes of Premier League football this season as summer imports Marco van Ginkel, Ibrahim Afellay and Xherdan Shaqiri have all featured ahead of him.Sidwell has winners’ medals from the Premier League, Championship and FA Cup and is unlikely to be willing to sit out his days on the Potteries’ periphery.The 33-year-old is out of contract in the summer so would be available for a nominal fee in January.The Arsenal academy graduate would undoubtedly be able to offer both relegation-fighting and promotion-chasing clubs plenty of experience for the final half of the season and beyond.last_img read more
