Tottenham MUST fight for a top four spot next year, insists Pochettino

first_imgTottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has insisted the club must be ambitious in their quest for a top four finish next season.Spurs completed their 2014/15 Premier League campaign with a 1-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park, thanks to a goal from hotshot Harry Kane, helping them claim fifth spot.In the end the Argentine’s men were just six points off fourth placed Manchester United, who return to the Champions League, and Pochettino wants to see his side battle for a place in the competition from the get go next season. He said: “The mentality is right [to fight for a top four spot].“Our challenge next season is trying to fight from the beginning of the season for the top four but finishing above Liverpool, Everton and Southampton is a big thing.“This season it was difficult to achieve a top four finish but we need to try and fight for it next season. We need to be ambitious. This is the most important thing.”last_img read more
