Free Agent Max Meyer signs three-year deal with Crystal Palace

first_imgCrystal Palace have signed Germany midfielder Max Meyer on a three-year deal after his contract at Schalke 04 expired.Meyer, one touted as Germany’s brightest prospect, was struggling to find a club because of his astronomical wage demands. Nobody was willing to pay that much for him until Palace decided to break the bank for the talented attacker. According to reports, he is set to bag 170,000 pounds per week with the London club.Meyer, 22, is the Crystal Palace’s third buy of the summer. Before him, Vicente Guaita and Cheikhou Kouyate moved to Selhurst Park.Speaking about his move to Palace, Meyer said that he can’t wait to play in the Premier League.”I played at Selhurst Park last season for Schalke and the atmosphere was perfect, and I can’t wait to experience the atmosphere for a Premier League game,” said Meyer.Meyer, who has played four times for Germany, came through the youth ranks at Schalke and scored 22 goals in 192 games for the club, including three Champions League campaigns.
