The Italian journalist reports that Juve, Barca and the player himself are working together to help ensure the deal goes ahead, with Barca in particular keen to remove the Uruguayan’s salary from their wage bill. Di Marzio also revealed that a potential passport issue has been identified, with Juve already having filled their quota of non-EU citizens. Suarez might need to cancel his Barca contract and take a work contract in Italy, which would then ease the issue and see him awarded a passport within 15 days.Advertisement Loading… center_img Read Also: Messi considering Barcelona stay as transfer saga goes on However, Juve don’t see this is a deal-breaker. The bigger issue, they feel, is Suarez’s severance pay, which could prove too costly. Juventus are also still pursuing Arkadiusz Milik from Napoli, who has been made available this summer. Haedo stages slim win

first_imgLuca Paolini of Italy, who rides for Liquigas, was second and Credit Agricole rider Thor Hushovd of Norway was third – both in the same time as the winner. The Discovery Channel’s Leipheimer took the race’s lead Sunday with his uphill prologue win in San Francisco, and holds a one-second margin over first-year pro Jason Donald of the Slipstream team. Leipheimer finished the stage in 77th position Tuesday, when 137 of the 141 finishers were credited with the same time. “I talked with my teammate Stuart (O’Grady) before the start,” said Haedo, who is in his first year with the Denmark- based CSC team. “He’s been in the Tour de France 10 times. He knows what to do. All I had to do was follow him.” Haedo became the first rider to win three stages of the race. A group of four riders built a lead of more than five minutes after 30 miles. Later, the lead group was reduced to three, and eventually the main pack caught up by the time the riders began the first of three, 2.9-mile circuits around the Capitol. “I think everyone was a little cautious because of the Trinity Grade (climb),” Leipheimer said of the race’s first ascent, 12miles into the stage. “It turned out to be quite a tough climb, actually, and I just tried to stay in the front.” SACRAMENTO – Juan Jose Haedo sprinted to victory by about two bike lengths Tuesday in the second stage of the Amgen Tour of California, and Levi Leipheimer retained a slim overall lead. Haedo completed the 115.8-mile run from Santa Rosa to Sacramento in 4 hours, 40minutes, 39 seconds. The Argentinian won two stages of the race in its inaugural edition last year. center_img The eight-day, 639.2-mile race continues today with the 94.6-mile stage from Stockton to San Jose. The leg includes the race’s most difficult climb: the Sierra Road ascent about 75miles into the stage. 160Want local news?Sign up for the Localist and stay informed Something went wrong.
