Coram Man Tried to Use Taser on Officers, Cops Say

first_imgSign up for our COVID-19 newsletter to stay up-to-date on the latest coronavirus news throughout New York A parolee has been arrested for trying to use a taser on a pair of Suffolk County police officers that he stole the weapon from during a traffic stop in Central Islip over the weekend, authorities said.The officers stopped a Lexus for an equipment violation when found the driver, Dwayne Murray, had a loaded handgun and drugs in the car at the corner of Prospect Avenue and Willow Street at 6 p.m. Friday, police said.That’s when the 23-year-old Coram man started fighting with the officers in an attempt to flee, stole one of the officers’ tasers from his gun belt holster and aimed it at the officers, but could not get it to work, police said.Murray threw the taser to the ground and was subdued after additional officers responded to the scene.The officers and Murray were treated and released from Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for non-life threatening injuries.Murray, who was on parole for assault and armed robbery, charged with criminal possession of a weapon, robbery, menacing, resisting arrest and unlawful possession of marijuana.His bail was set at $50,000 cash or $250,000 bond.last_img read more

I am talking about giving you a pass that leads to the score, not just passing it to you. … I like him because he also is now a great teammate. He has a special effect on people.”The Lakers, who completed the worst season in the franchise’s history in 2016 with a 17-65 record, and were second bottom in the Western Conference last season, were already a better team, Johnson said.“The roster is more balanced.
